FORD CORSAIR OWNERS CLUB
RALLY 2007
Dear All
Rather than wait until the next newsletter I thought I would e-mail
committee members to let them know of the change of venue and date of this
year’s rally.
I was finding it very difficult to get things organised at Gaydon and
they wanted to charge us a lot for camping. Also the showers/toilets were
minimal and there would not be much for members to do.
Camping is also a lot cheaper than it would have been at Gaydon.
Yesterday I received an invitation from the Mk 1 Cortina Owners Club
inviting us to join them at their National Show to be held at
Stratford Upon Avon
Racecourse on 28 and 29 July. We do
have access on Friday 27th but would need to be off the field by the
Sunday evening.
There are toilets with hot/cold water and showers are available on the
adjacent campsite. A refreshment vehicle offering a selection of hot food
(including breakfasts) will be in attendance during the weekend and open
throughout the day.
Children are also well catered for with the
play area. They are also going to have a children’s entertainer on site over the
weekend.
They aim to make it a family weekend and
there will be a lot going on and our members are welcome to join in.
There will be a car run, children’s entertainer, an evening pop quiz,
band and disco. No bar – they say
to bring your own!
We are going to have our own marquee and judging and trophies etc as per
usual.
Anyway, the long and the short of it is that I have accepted this
invitation to join them. Crayford
Club will be joining us as per usual.
I will be putting something in the next newsletter for members but I
thought you, as committee members, would like to know the details so you can
pass on to your local members if you see them.
Regards
Liz Checkley
